Your Climate Pledge Counts!
On Sunday, September 13, cyclists will ride the Climate Classic to draw attention to the consequences of climate change. But attention is not enough. That is why, as a participant, you make a Climate Promise during your registration.
What is a Climate Pledge?
A Climate Pledge is an action you will take to improve the impact on the climate. From yourself or from others. For example, will you not eat meat for a month, will you encourage your neighbors to adopt solar panels, will you become a member of an energy cooperative or will you put pressure on the fossil industry via Follow This?

Examples
With which climate action do you help the climate and environment? Check out the list below for inspiration.
Food & Nutrition
- Join the Veggie Challenge and eat vegetarian or plant-based for a month
- Cook with only seasonal vegetables for a week
- Buy local and organic at a local farmers market
- Switch to plant-based dairy for 6 weeks
Living
- Buy and place radiator foil behind your heating
- Shower for a maximum of 2 minutes at a time for a month and/or purchase a watersaving shower head
- Finally insulate that attic!
Transport
- Take the bike and leave the car
- For your next holiday or conference, take the bike or train instead of the car or plane
- Join a Bike 2 Work challenge together with colleagues
- Get rid of your car and use a (electric) shared car
Stuff
Don’t buy any new stuff for a month, and if you do buy only second-hand
Buy products made from recycled materials
- Buy as packaging-free as possible (at Migros and Coop you can re-fill your own container with nuts!)

- Join a political party and green their program
- Vote for nature, biodiversity and the planet
- Buy a share in Shell via Follow This
- Volunteer for Climate related organizations
Help your environment
- Organize an energy masterclass at a secondary school
- Determine what can be made more climate-friendly in your work (and make it happen 😉)
- Start a climate conversation with 5 people in your area
- Check your responsibility score and fix it!
